Greg Peterson, Urban Farm Advocate

Greg Peterson is a green living and sustainability innovator who runs the much-beloved Urban Farm (www.urbanfarm.org) in Phoenix, Arizona. I began working with Greg in 2002, when he first started writing columns for Edible Phoenix and PHOENIX Magazine. I was excited to work with someone who was so passionate about his work. Greg is truly a man on a mission.

I’ve worked with Greg off and on again, helping him in his initial forays into mapping out his books.  Since then, he has published several guides on various aspects of urban farming.  He is the primary writer and host for the pilot television show Smart Spaces: Inside & Out. His column, The Green Guy, is available for syndication.  He has appeared extensively on regional television and radio programs and is a frequent guest columnist for publications. Greg is also a popular speaker on green and sustainability topics and regularly draws hundreds of people for his lecture series: Living Green, What Does it Mean?

Greg has a master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning (MUEP) from Arizona State University. His academic training has been augmented by 34 years of real-world self-study, including owning several businesses and his work in computer training, software development and management.
