Self-publishing workshopBy Lori DeBoer

Many of my friends and clients are turning to self-publishing. E-books have revolutionized the publishing industry.  As a an author, it pays to investigate what’s going on in this interesting world.

On Sunday, April 27, 2014, I’ll be giving a talk on self-publishing for the members of the Boulder Writers’ Workshop. Joining me will be will be Lynda Hilburn, author of the popular The Vampire Shrink series, Marian Rothschild, author of the Amazon-bestseller Look Good Now and Always: A Do-It-Yourself-Style Makeover and Carolyn Rose Hart, author of Step Up and Step and Step Out:  Share Your Gifts and Be an Agent for Change.

In this seminar, I’ll be talking about how you can determine if self-publishing is the right path for you and your book. I’ll give you overview of the benefits and drawbacks of traditional publishing, subsidy publishing and self-publishing. We’ll discuss options for self-publishing and selling your book, including publishing on Amazon, and some of the steps you’ll need to take to successfully bring your book to market.
